I'm in California and already started with Spearhead. What happens to my documentation?
Every year, tens of thousands of Service Members get injured during training and deployment cycles; but they don’t always disclose their injuries because they fear being removed from duty. Years later, as they prepare to exit the military, they find a medical record with holes in it.
Incomplete or missing medical records are one of the leading causes of VA claim delays or denials. Proper documentation ensures that service-related injuries or conditions are recognized, giving Veterans access to the benefits they rightfully deserve. If your condition is not backed up in your medical record, it becomes almost impossible to file with the VA.
Our solution, addresses all three issues.

C&P Guidance + Preparation
We are not accredited and do not file disability claims on your behalf the way an accredited VSO would. During our VA Support Session, Spearhead will provide guidance and coaching for you to file, but submission remains your responsibility. Our focus is to get your medical record-mission-ready. The more thorough it is, the easier it is for the DoD and VA to receive.
The Intake Session is a 2-3 hour interview conducted by our transition specialists to review your medical history. Using a structured 'yes or no' format, we ask targeted questions designed to uncover important details about your experiences. This session is designed to thoroughly gather the information needed to make your medical addendum as comprehensive as possible.
The timeline depends on the complexity of your case and the amount of documentation needed, but most clients complete their Intake Session and receive their finalized addendum within 3-4 weeks. We prioritize accuracy and thoroughness to ensure the best possible outcome.
Our team takes privacy and security very seriously. Spearhead uses a secure platform to store your information in a manner that complies with all State and Federal regulations. Your data is handled with the utmost care and confidentiality, and we do not sell any of your personal information.
S P E A R H E A D
Right now, we’ve paused new enrollments for California residents. In 2026, California passed a new law (SB 694) that changes how companies can work with Service Members and Veterans in the state.

It’s worth being clear about who we are. Spearhead is a documentation company, not a claims company — our whole focus is the documentation gap, the distance between what you lived and what your record proves. We help you build that record; you file. Because building documentation is different from filing claims, how a law like this applies to what we do is still being worked out — so rather than assume, we’ve chosen to wait until it’s clear. We’d rather be careful than assume; it’s the same standard we hold for every record we build.

That said, every situation is a little different. Depending on your circumstances and timing, there may still be ways we can help — or resources we can point you to. Reach out and we’ll talk through what’s possible for you.

If you’re a California Service Members who needs to act now, we’re glad to point you toward free, VA-accredited resources, such as your local Veterans Service Organization (VSO) or county Veterans Service Office. We build the documentation; you decide how and where to file — and we hope to be able to serve California again once the rules are clear.

How do I find a good VSO?
Start with your local, VA-accredited Veterans Service Organization (VSO) — many are free, including your county Veterans Service Office. A couple of things worth keeping in mind as you do:
Look for the right experience. Try to find a representative who has worked with your community and understands the kinds of conditions, injuries, and exposures you carry. The right fit makes a real difference in how well your story comes through.

You’re in charge of your record. There’s no limit to the number of things you can document — and it’s your job to tell them what you want reflected in your record. Come prepared with the full picture of your service, and don’t leave something out because you assume it doesn’t matter.
Your record is yours. We finish and deliver the documentation you’ve paid for, and we’ll give you a clear path to carry it forward — including free, VA-accredited resources for anything we don’t handle. If any part of what you paid for can’t be completed, we’ll make it right.
Reach out at tania.glick@sprhdvet.com and we’ll walk you through exactly what this means for you.
